Musicounts is considered Canada's music education charity. Affiliated with CARAS and the JUNO Awards, Musicounts celebrates musical excellence and musical instruments to schools across Canada. Through its various programs, Musicounts' mission is to ensure that all children and youth across Canada have access to music education.
The Coalition for Music Education is a long-standing organization that formed in 1992 with a national focus on improving music education in schools. They describe their mission as existing "to raise the awareness and understanding of the role that music education plays in Canadian culture, and to promote the benefits that music education brings to young people."
Music Monday is an annual signature event for The Coalition for Music Education. Held on the first Monday in May, the full-day event celebrates the significance of music education in schools and it's impact on the development of our nation's youth. Schools across the country are unified by simultaneously performing an anthem created for the cause.
MaritimeBus is an official drop-off location for Stringathon. People can drop off their unused strings at one of eight terminals located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. MaritimeBus will ship those strings to Stringathon, free of charge.
